I had another amazing shave this morning but not an autopilot shave by any means. After reading u/imblasted’s post from yesterday I thought about angles.

I offered my thoughts on increasing the blade angle to the shave plane from this to this, which is what I am doing, having adapted my learning from the few uses of my new shavette.

I was deliberate in trying both angles this morning and found that keeping the angle more flat led me to applying more pressure as I sought to maintain the angle. This would lead to irritation, obviously. I see how it could also lead to tugging. Increasing the blade angle made for a lighter touch, leaving the weight of the razor to do its work.

This said and rereading the post again today, how much can blade angle make up for a seemingly bad blade?

Spraying it on
