Aug. 27, 2022 - AA Day 27
Phew - almost missed this post. I shaved several hours ago and didn't have time to write it up and then just spaced it right before bed. That would have been a major bummer.
But, I made it. Shave was excellent. I am almost to the bottom of the tub of Sonder - I think I'll be seeing that sneaky little mammoth through the bottom middle tomorrow or Monday. I doubt I'll have to willpower to push on through and kill the tub anytime soon, the rest of my den needs some love (as I'm sure you all understand, especially you unscented weirdos). I'm still really happy with this scent and so glad I chose it - I'm not dying every time I use it by any means. I like the scent, it's just the rest of my den stares at me longingly every time I shave.
Same thing for brushes. The B34 Pic 1 Pic 2 is a lather machine and this evening whipped up a storm. Creamy, soft, wet - perfect for a 27 use blade to mow down some decent stubble. It's great, but, I want variety.
Razors and blades are where I'm really looking forward to a shift, though. I like the MMOC with the GEM. Permanent addition. But - well, I miss the other razors. And - this thing is still cutting like a dream, the tugginess has all but disappeared somehow, it's just that my shaves are not lasting very long. I shaved at 5PM - ish and I'll have a stache shadow in the morning - which is annoying. I don't want to shave twice a day, but I prefer to go to bed without a pokey face. In any event, the pair performed well this evening and I only had one little nick on my chin that I noticed later. I thought it was a near perfect shave to be honest, but the splash burn also told me that I'm probably pressing way too hard with this dull blade. Thankfully, synthetic cooling to the rescue.
Sonder though of the day:
I wonder if Sally ever felt threatened when Lightning took Cruz Ramirez under his wing. You know, younger flashy car. I bet not. Sally was confident in their relationship and was trusting, as she should have been. Lightning new he'd somehow landed a car way out of his league and wouldn't do anything silly to jeopardize that. And, as we see all through Cars 3, the relationship is strictly professional. Cruz became almost a daughter to McQueen and he was so proud when she finally passed him on that old dirt track, just like he'd done to his old mentor, the late, great, Doc Hudson. If Cars has anything to say about sonder, it's that sometimes people invest in us, and that's really cool. But investing in others - now that's even cooler. Go make someone else's life better - not because you have to, just because it's fun. You never know what might happen - maybe you'll be the inspiration, motivation, and training they need to go out and get that Dinoco sponsorship and their whole life with change.
