Aug. 20, 2022 - AA Day 20
Today's SOTD is brought to you courtesy of the first 5k I ran and the bows and lip gloss my daughters continue to leave on the counter every day. Felt pretty good about the run - PR'd my 5k time by 13 seconds with a time of 27:15. I've picked up running quite a bit more the last couple years and ramped up miles even more this Summer and have enjoyed it. Still mix it up with a variety of workouts, but, running is growing on me.
Anyway - the Zenith pic 1 pic 2 was photographed wet tonight as I forgot to take pictures of it pre-shave. It's been a long (but good) day. I thought as I lathered my face today that this boar, at 35 bucks, feels as good as any badger that I've used consistently. The gelousy that's waiting in the wings may beat it, I only got to use it once prior to AA, but for now this might be the softest brush in my den. I know this is the whole point of AA and the fine gentlemen running the challenges are aware of it, but, boars break in beautifully (and even surprisingly quickly) with no help. The hardest part for me this whole time has been not drying it on a towel post shave - I haven't done it - but, I almost do every time, even 20 days later.
MMOC was great. Shaved early yesterday and pretty late today so it was about as long as my growth ever gets these days and it mowed it right down with no problems. Full 3 pass shave with darn near BBS results.
Sonder - great again. Paired it with some Admiral and away we go.

We went to a car show today that was a fundraiser for my daughter's equine therapy lessons and while there we saw and interacted with a whole lot of people - some I knew and others I didn't. Anyway - this one very old guy (70s or 80s) stuck with me. He was sitting there in his VW bus and we just chat for a few minutes and man, if I could have hung around and heard that guys stories, I would have done it all day. The VW was set up with a full "bed" in the back and two seats in the front and he could have lived in that thing at some point for all I know. Sonder made me pause with him, even if I didn't get to ask about any of his life adventures - he was happy to show my kids the van and no, it wasn't a creepy "free candy" van. Anyway, there are so many vibrant lives all around and I'm kicking myself for not asking that guy ANY questions. Next time. Live and learn, right?
