Day two of Austere August, as primarily a head shaver I have to remind myself not to push for BBS if shaving every day. Luckily the Henson is pretty forgiving.

Day 3, so far so good! Still trying to get used to badger brushes after using mostly synthetic when first starting. Loading heavier helps, but sometimes it seems to be a little more difficult to get them to let go of the lather. Can often squeeze quite a bit out of the brush when cleaning up.

Day 4 today. Some minor irritation from once again chasing BBS on my head. I think most of that is from yesterdays shave though — the Henson is pretty mild. Lathering still needs work, I have gone from scooping to tub loading, still some guess work on how long to load, and how to tell that you have loaded enough for a good lather. Had the opposite problem when scooping, I would often have way too much lather at the end.

I'm impressed. Finally caved and picked up a Henson AL in aggressive. I was reluctant since I already have one in mild and medium and didn't think there would be that much difference (I don't notice much difference between the mild and medium). First shave with the aggressive and I could tell a pretty big difference. I was using sharper blades in the medium (Feather, Nacet) and decided to start with the Astra in the aggressive for the first use, and it was a noticeably more efficient shave. Some irritation, but it definitely got closer, faster, than the others. I may have to reconsider my stance on picking this up in Titanium. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Another great shave today with my new Henson aggressive. Looking forward to going back through my various blades and seeing what works well. I always needed a sharp blade in the mild/medium. Some slight irritation, probably need to use less pressure -- definitely needed to use some with the other two. Hope everyone had a great weekend, and that Monday isn't too rough!

The Voskhod definitely did not seem to do as well as the previous Astra SP. More irritation today, less close shave. Felt pretty tuggy the whole time.

Not much new today, 3 uses of the blade may be pushing it for a head shave, at least in this razor. It was way too hot today at 99°F (~37°C for the rest of the world), I knew I should've picked up some Permafrost earlier! Hope everyone is staying cool!

Another hot day today, thankfully my Permafrost order came in along with my Chisel and Hound/Mammoth Voices brush/set. Can't wait to be able to try the rest out after Austere August! The additional cooling after the shave was extremely welcome!

Going to see The Empire Strips Back burlesque show today, perfect reason to break out the Sandalorian.
My Stainless Leaf came in today, a few days before I expected it. I get great shaves with the original, but the additional weight and knurling on the handle is very nice.
Anyone else have a backlog of acquisitions over the last month waiting on them? Having trouble deciding what will be first up next month. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
