It's exciting to be back. I think this might be my third Austere August with this tub, I fell out of love with it after buying it, and it's just been hanging around in a drawer.

Shave was good, just did a one-pass head shave to ward off the stubble, and get back into the swing of things. I smell green. Still, I work out of my garage now, so it's not like I can stink bomb anyone here.

I dug up my old sotd formatter I wrote for the lather games a couple years ago too, which was neat. It's still running out there in the ether! The joys of hosting projects on other people's computers.

You know what's nice about Austere August? I don't have to do a lot of data entry work to record my SOTD.

Shaving late because I had a goofy morning. One pass in anticipation of a quick turnaround tomorrow.

Son slept through the night for the third time in 10 months. I feel weird.

Got in a little run, fell off the wagon after getting surgery and then covid earlier this year. It was nice! I'll see where I am tomorrow, try to walk up the distance slowly.

Since I shaved last night too, I went straight for an ATG pass, which surprisingly, worked fine. No nicks or cuts.

It's good I have the challenge to keep me honest and in a routine- shaving is easier when you do it every day!

I'm thinking of getting a fresh blade though, this one is starting to drag.

2.5 mile run first. Took the baby boy out with me, he was pretty cheerful. Saw a redtail up close and some bunnies.

Apparently I've been spelling Gillette wrong all this time.

Another 2.5 mile run today with the baby boy, it was great. I stopped halfway to take a photo and he was cheesing hard. Lots of little rabbits on the path.

Not sure if I should take a rest day tomorrow, a 1 miler slowdown day, or just keep at it. I'm feeling pretty solid.

Night shave after a sweaty day. Thought it would be cold and windy at the park, it was actually balmy, and my poor clothing decisions made that worse.

Knee is bothering me, so I don't know if I'll be running again soon. It's totally fine in the normal range of motion, but if I have a straight leg it lights up, which is really odd, I'm not sure what I've done to it. Should probably try and figure out some other kind of fitness plan, or I'm liable to turn into a blob person.

Took my daughter to her first dance class, and I did have to go in and hold her hand for a couple minutes there, but she took to it like a fish to water. As soon as she saw the next class start to trickle in she wanted to go in for another round.

Not the triumphant August I'd been hoping for, but I did get a lot of good shaves in, and it was nice to be closer to being back in the everyday habit. Also, logging shaves wasn't as time consuming as I'd worried it was going to be.

Still not done with this goddamn soap puck. I'm going to ride it out and see if I can kill it before the end of the year though.
