    2 pass shave once more with loads of weepers. This was not a great shave. I have honestly been skipping shaves lately to every other day or so due to mask at work and basically sheer laziness- my face has become wimpy. I guess it’s time to beat it back into submission.

    Almond Leather is a great scent to carry into this month. It’s very versatile, and the gentle touch of koolada makes it appeal to summer as much as it does to winter.

    The brush. Oh man. If I had to shave with this particular set up for the rest of my life I’d have a beard. Onward to day 4!

    2 pass shave; fantastic shave with little to no alum. Let’s talk about almond leather from a scent profile.

    Initial note is a robust amaretto. As I lather, I get the leather and a bit of the frankincense as I finish the lather. The aftershave seems to carry more of the orange blossom for me, and it almost comes about with a bit of honey.

    I don’t think I could ever get sick of this scent. It fits any day, any weather, and it is great for AA because it’s purely inoffensive and unobtrusive. I don’t ever see this being a bad choice in any circumstance.

    2 pass shave. I got my butt kicked extending a power outlet on the pool deck today. I’m sure it would have taken an electrician two hours, but I decided to save money and kill an entire day. We now have a ceiling outlet and are able to install solar shades- win?

    Shave was fantastic today, or maybe I was just beat from the yard work and electrical work. Either way, Almond leather made me feel clean again.

    3 pass shave, additional Osma pass. I offended the zeitgeist yesterday by raising the concept that alum could be a hand to hold during your shave rather than a bouncer that nods as you leave the party. I challenged my concept once more this evening, and am now confident in my assessment that it helps me achieve more precise lines about my preserved facial hair (eg, “goatee”). This is as good of a shave as I have ever had.

    In other news, I can’t wait to skip a work meeting to interview with another job tomorrow. That’s a definite first.

    A great 2 pass shave, minimal irritation. I had a lunch interview with another medical group- I was working, so this was from my car as awkwardly as humanly possible. The locations seem to limit viability of practice transition. So I get through the work day only to find out my kid has Covid symptoms 6 days into her school year. She tested positive shortly after.

    I’m actually happy to take some time off from work to dad it up; I was with Covid recently, and my family avoided, so it only seems right to give my wife a break in hopes of allowing her to avoid it yet again. I am doubtful she will be successful given the virulence of present strains, but we can hope.

    3 pass shave. I couldn’t be happier with progress so far this month. It is striking how quickly you can gain/regain efficiency with a shavette; I hope to not lose it as quickly this coming year.

    Wife and kid both down with Covid; today the grandparents she spent only a couple hours with a few days ago also tested positive. These omicron variants are just impressive. She is running around like crazy, and you wouldn’t know she was sick except for when she sneezes or coughs, or when the ibuprofen or acetaminophen wear off. My wife is not fairing as well- she is having all the joint pains and muscle aches I got to experience. I really hope her parents fair well.

    2 pass shave; smooth and painless. I soaked the boar in vinegar and gave a dawn dishsoap rinse today; it is really struggling to catch up with soap tonight to form a good lather. All in all, I had to load about twice as much as normal, but the shave was very reasonable.

    I also realized my boar has been labeled wrong for who knows how many shaves. It’s a B2. I don’t know if there is a B10 even?

    2 pass shave to finish off the month. I missed zero days, and posted maybe ten shaves on time or around the time I actually shaved.

    I was riding thrill high for the past two AA’s, and entered this one after a slump of night posting daily shaves for the better part of six months. Shaving had become a routine, and that fit perfectly into my third season of AA.

    I used this shavette last year, and I believe I probably pursued closer shaves last year by using three passes more regularly. Needless to say, this year had shaves not as smooth or close, but I also didn’t feel like a slouch for a single day.

    This is my second season with Zenith B2; I imagine it has somewhere around 150 shaves, and is blossoming well. It probably is not my favorite brush, but I have almost definitely put more work into developing it than any other brush.

    This was my first season with Mammoth Tusk base; I entered the month only having shaved with this set possibly once or twice. It is a perfect fit for any day; the notes can be dressed up or down. I found a fragrance match in NO Lonestar ADP.

    I would use any item in this shave routine any day. Each is a fine piece of equipment. Thanks for a wonderful month of shaves!
